There are far too many activities to include all the details on our site. So please refer to our list of participating groups and go to their websites for more detailed information about their events.
Each month, this site will be updated with a selection of forthcoming events and you can follow this link to see them.
Arts Thurrock has existed since 1960 under the name Thurrock Arts Council. Rebranded in 2017, it is an umbrella organisation bringing together voluntary Arts groups from all parts of Thurrock.
Arts Thurrock is split into 5 groups: Visual Arts, Brass Bands, Drama and Dance, Music, and General Arts ( for Local History, Antiques, Writers and any interests which do not fit easily into the previous four.)
So, if you are interested in painting or just looking at other peoples' exhibitions then we can offer both. The camera club offers the ability to share ideas with like minded photographers and even enter you picture in competitions. The Marquetry group takes pictures and turns them into beautifully polished wooden plaques. They offer a rare opportunity to take part in this exquisite art form.
All forms of history are catered for and there is a programme of knowledgeable speakers all year round.
Our Brass bands have been successful in competitions but are also highly visible in events around the borough. No fete would be complete without one. If you fancy starting from scratch, they are always on the lookout for new members and offer classes in a whole range of instruments.
Our Choirs present regular concerts not only throughout the borough but in neighbouring boroughs too.
Last, but by no means least, all our performing societies have won awards for their shows and the quality of their productions is well known throughout South East England. Between them, they provide a minimum of three musical performances and three plays every year at the Thameside Theatre.
